news from the Mexican front
things are looking better and better. first i should point out what we were expecting coming here:

phase 3 of the project, consisting of 5.7 miles of the levee and another 1 mile of the interior levee. all this to be done by the end of the month, with the help of the other team. after that another 8 miles of a different interior levee.

here is what we got:

the 8 miles of the interior levee is part of a phase who-knows-which, but past phase 4. so we are not touching it.
the 5.7 miles and 1 mile of the interior levee are phase 4, which we may or may not do while we are out here. there is a meeting about it in DC tuesday. IF it gets approved we will have 60 days to finish it (including reports and all) so the other team will come down to help us.
the phase 3 that we ARE working on is only 5.3 miles with no real time limit, so we are taking our time while waiting on the news about phase 4.

my bosses daughter (who shall remain nameless, but i will call her Princess Lucifer, or PL for short) picked up her prescription yesterday, zanex(if thats how you spell it) and may or may not have taken 8 pills last night. her boyfriend says she did, she says she didnt, one of them is lying. also PL admits to taking 5 tylenol pm, probably along with the zanex. there is also a $20 bottle of burbon involved. her work perfomance today makes you think that she did take all those pills, and washed them down with some burbon. needless to say Jenny (our boss out here) is getting ready to put them both on a bus and send them home (refer to part 1 of my previous post for more details on going home).

oh, and today we saw some illegals crossing the border. fun times.

at least the weather is nice.
